List of 1000 Gratefuls (61-70)

61. Facebook! It is one of the few ways that I am able to feel like I am connected to family and friends while I am on the other side of the planet.
62. Video calling through Skype! I may not be able to be in the same room with my family members for the holidays, but at least I can see them.
63. Singing songs with my daughter...she doesn't know the words yet, but the fact that she is still singing with me makes it even cuter.
64. Adorable little girl clothes...now I understand the fun of having little girls.
65. My daughter's first Christmas. It may have been different than what I had imagined but the look on her face when she came out of the bedroom was priceless. :o
66. Reading the books that I grew up with to my daughter..."Pat the Bunny", "Goodnight Moon", "The Hungry Caterpillar"...and having her enjoy them as much as I did; it makes me enjoy the books even more.
67. Singing "Jesus Loves Me" to my daughter while she hugs her blanket, elephant, and the flashlight at bedtime.
68. A high-speed internet card, that is actually functioning at high speeds.
69. Accidentally figuring out the solution to a problem without having to ask for help.
70. Reading friends' blogs...

List of 1000 Gratefuls (51-60)

51. Quiet! No kids yelling, crying, and screaming and the end of the cacophony of Hindu and Muslim and Catholic songs when the electricity goes out 2-3 times each day.
52. Really good Indian masala tea...so much better than what most of us know as a chai latte.
53. No one knocking on my door, endlessly from 6 am to 10 pm.
54. Bitter gourd gravy. The bitterness lingers in the back of my throat all day (yuck!), but I know it has to be killing the bugs inside of me (right!?).
55. My husband's cell phone, set to silent.
56. Parantha (a type of Indian bread), 6 pieces for less than $1 at our local restaurant, served with local chicken gravy...one of my favorite Indian comfort foods.
57. Hunger satiated by excellent food.
58. Six blessings (living puppies) amid the sadness (the death by poison of our beloved watch dog Baby).
59. Being able to successfully express myself without messing up in Tamil, my husband's mother-tongue.
60. New endeavors. (Check out the blog I will be contributing to in 2012 - 66 Books in a Year - http://66books.wordpress.com/)
